About us...

Denise and Iona have been best friends for 35 years and reside in the Okanagan. Iona has a background in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and sales, while Denise has a background in education and tourism. Both ladies have experience caring for family members with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

You can do this by calling directly or booking it online.

We offer the service you require. If it's not on the list, ask. We can customize a service just for your unique needs. We will give you a no-obligation quote beforehand so that you know. Before moving forward, you will receive a contract outlining the scope of work.

After your initial consultation is completed, you can book the appointment time that you require in person with us immediately or book appointments online with easy payment options. This way, you can rest assured that your time is secure and held just for you.

How to register and book an appointment

Service Pricing

Most services are $65 per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours most services. Exceptions are made for pet checks and home checks. This can all be discussed during the meet-and-greet consulting appointment.

Why would I need Caring Connections instead of a taxi?

Our service starts with a knock on your front door and a helping hand with our vehicle. If it is raining, you can shelter under our umbrella, and when we get to your destination, we can walk with you and help you along the way. Enjoy relaxing music and a good chat in the car, as all our drivers are friendly and interested in helping you plan the journey. Your independence and enjoyment are what we are here for.

Do you have experience working with elderly people?

Caring Connection companions are hand-selected and have implemented the skills from the book "Creating Moments of Joy." They have enjoyed the personal responsibility and privilege of working with their aging parents and family members. All drivers have criminal record checks and a driver's abstract. We also have up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificates.

Do Caring Connection drivers have experience supporting people with disabilities?

Before a journey, we ask for any special instructions and make notes about disabilities, just in case. In this way, passengers with disabilities and their carers can be assured that we are looking after the client just as we would our family.

What if I need a ride with wheelchair accessibility?

Caring Connections companions will happily call a cab service of your choice with a wheelchair service and accompany you in the taxi wherever you wish to go.

Are Caring Connection journeys pre-quoted?

Pre-quoting means peace of mind. To do so, we take a little bit more time to ask questions about your special needs and what needs to be completed along the way. No one wants surprises about the price, that is why we always pre-quote every journey.

Can I book a regular service every week?

Once you get to know your Caring Connection driver, we look forward to your booking regularly. We love getting to know our regular clients.

Will Caring Connection staff stay with me while I am at my appointment or in the shops?

When booking your next Caring Connection trip, we will ask whether you need us to help you after you leave our vehicle. Taking you to the hairdresser, physiotherapist, pharmacy, or shopping center is one of many things that make a trip with us so special. We would also like to include accompaniment throughout your whole outing experience, as required. This would be predetermined at the time of your booking.

Will Caring Connections make sure my elderly mother is taken safely back to her front door?

When we are helping, we take you from your home, and if you are forgetful, we make sure you arrive safely at your destination. We can even take you to appointments and keep notes for you and your family, so everyone knows what happened.

Where will Caring Connections take me?

Our journeys can be long or short, and we will map out our outings with you in advance. We are available between Peachland and Vernon and will tailor our services to your needs. Take a trip with your pet to the vet, drive along the water's edge, or view the sights of our beautiful city. Every journey is possible.

Can I book Caring Connections for the whole day?

Caring Connections drivers are available to be booked for a minimum of 1.5 hours up to a 7-hour day. We delight in helping you with day excursions and outings. You can meet a friend, go to a winery, watch a movie, enjoy an afternoon at the park, and more! Let's turn your day into something to remember.

Can I choose which Caring Connection driver takes me on my journey?

If you book early, ask for your particular Caring Connection driver. This means you can continue the conversation you started on the previous occasion!

Do I pay for my booking up front?

Payment arrangements are very flexible. Usually, payment is made by credit card, debit card, or cash after completion. Advance payment can be arranged for distant family members, with travel and accounting details supplied every month. Just ask when making your inquiry if you need further information.

How do I pay for my service?

Caring Connections has all payment options: e-transfer, credit card, debit card, cash, and monthly invoicing (on pre-approval). Please feel free to inquire about any of these options.

How far in advance can I make my booking?

The good thing about Caring Connections is that we are professionals. Bookings can be made well in advance so that you are assured that we will arrive on time and ready to help. We will even send you a reminder of our booked outing.

Is there a charge if I have to cancel my booking?

When booking services with Caring Connections, there are never surprises. You will be informed of our cancellation policy during our free quote. We will require 24 hours of notice if you must cancel a booking. After that, you will be charged 50% of the quoted cost for the services booked.

How will the payment process happen once I have made my booking online?

Once you have booked your service time online, within one hour, you will receive an invoice link via email to make the payment. Clicking on the link will take you to the payment options. We accept credit cards, PayPal, and e-transfers.
